My name is Riley and It is THE BEST DAY EVER!
So this happened yesterday afternoon.…
After 4,343 days without a dog, I was adopted by a new human. My human’s last canine friend was Newman the Wonder Dog who crossed the proverbial rainbow bridge on 12/11/2011.
I am an 8 month old rescue Golden Retriever and I was living outside (which was GREAT) but they claimed I was killing the family’s chickens. You accidentally chew too hard on ONE chicken’s neck and you’re labeled for life!
So far, my human thinks I have done well at his casa! So far…
He tells me I am going to be a good girl for him with a bit of training.
We are supposed to go somewhere called a ‘beach’ later this week, but at the moment I’m just trying to stay calm … and escape back outside every 15 minutes!
After all, there are lions and tigers and bears to protect my human from!
Every dog needs a boy….

The Life of Riley
It’s the best day ever.
Another great Blue Buffalo breakfast followed by a nice walk in the dark.
I am not use to the leash because I use to roam wild and kill chickens, so these are not fun walks yet. I think my human must be teaching me Spanish because on our walks he calls me “Dammit, Riley”.
I think today we are meeting a dog trainer – whatever that is?
Officially, my human boy tells me I am the best looking dog on this street. I think he is correct.
We went for a ride in the truck over to grandma and grandpa’s house where I ate two powdered mini-doughnuts….and a hat.
I am not sure I was supposed to eat the hat.
I also learned that I am not allowed to drink water out of the big white bowl in the bathroom.
So far, my back yard patrol is at 100% as I have made sure no lions or tigers or bears have come into the back yard. But, I did almost catch a bunny rabbit who looked at me kinda funny.
